Launching the “Brüno” movie in Romania

The movie is a parody or, to be more precise, a mockumentary. Assuming the persona of a gay Austrian fashionmonger, Bruno offered a cleverly costumed Baron Cohen the opportunity to highlight the absurdities of the fashion industry by interviewing unsuspecting fashion icons and other haute couture hangers-on.

We created a web page to promote the movie – bebruno.ro On the web page we launched a contest – “Brüno de Romania” – and we invited people to write the craziest posts in Bruno style: “Do you have humour, ballz, and brainz? Give us your best and you can receive a trip to Fundulea (a well known small Romanian countryside town that in English means something like Assoria, a noun derived from “ass”). The users were able to rate all the contestant’s posts. The best rated post received the prize.

The contest was also communicated on the movie poster. The campaign generated a lot of engagement and created urban folklore.
